The Found Receipt Project

It seems that almost every time Laura and I go through the self checkout at a store we discover a receipt that somebody left behind. A few nights ago we got the idea that saving them and blogging them might be interesting. How cool would it be to take a peek into somebody’s life, just a little bit? Here’s the first of the series.

This person bought two cans of green beans, two bottles of Parkay spray, and two loafs of Schwebel’s light white bread. On the beverage front they bought Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi (which I love), bottled water, and “Tea 2 Go,” whatever that is. They also took home a copy of Glamour Magazine and Cosmo.

I’m picturing a woman in her early thirties sitting at home reading about how to look fashionable while pleasing her man in the most amazing ways imaginable while eating green bean and Parkay sandwiches, sipping on Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi. Her biological clock is ticking and she really wants to meet Mr. Right, but her odd shopping habits keep driving all the cute ones away.

Don’t even get me started on what I think “GE Stix” might be.

It’s a shame, too. She could have saved $2.00 if she had a Giant Eagle Advantage card. Maybe then she could have afforded to head to that trendy show at the House of Blues where she could finally meet Mr. Right over a green bean sandwich.
