Jobs!
The long wait is over! I’ve been in this state for almost five months now, and I’ve finally gotten my first offer of employment. It is contingent on me going to get a drug test within the next 24-48 hours (which is no problem; I just have to have a shower and get dressed and I could go at any time), but I’ve never had a problem getting through a drug test. Unless quinine (in trace quantities from tonic water) or orange juice are banned substances, I should be just fine. I haven’t consumed alcohol even in over a week. The point is: I have a job! Time Warner Cable made me an offer today. It’s a full time position, making approximately what I was making at Comcast in Oregon, which means Johnathan and I will be very comfortable. It means that my debts can be paid down fairly quickly and that we are free to buy things that we’ve needed but which would have put an unreasonable strain on our budget.
This is very exciting! It took me almost five months of dogged job searching but I finally did it: I got a job. And not only that, I got a job which will be good for us.
I may not love this city but I’m sure I’ll dislike it a lot less now that spring is on the way and now that my bank account won’t be suffering so much anymore. Hurrah! Things are looking up again. I couldn’t be happier at this moment!

Congrats! Very happy for you!
