Moving: Part … Something
I’ve had a bit of a breakthrough today, in terms of what my plans are for moving. I was informed by someone today who has made a move of 1500 miles twice now that she used UPS for her move, and all of her things were sent for about $250. This is, by far, the most reasonable price that I’ve been quoted so far. I will have to call UPS myself, of course, as I’m moving 1000 miles farther than she did, but I think it might be the best way of doing this. Especially if I’m able to sell my Jeep before we go, and able to find a car either before I leave or right after I get there, I’ll really be set.
Well, I guess, things are moving forward. I’m going to call UPS and get an estimate about shipping my things from here to Cleveland, and I’m buying a new car (hopefully) on Wednesday. I’ve been approved for a $10,000 loan, and my step-dad and I are going to some dealership or other to see about getting a four-door sedan automatic which has heat and, preferably AC. Anything above that would be icing, as far as I’m concerned.
So, there we have it. My moving plans are settled. When I go see Johnathan this August (two and a half weeks!), we’re going to stop into some apartments and take a look around, and I am hoping that I can put in an application for whatever one that I’m looking to get, and hopefully get one secured by the time I leave Ohio to go back to Oregon. Whether this is reasonable or not, I am unsure, but it will be a good step in the right direction to get that settled. This move is starting to go places! (No pun intended. I swear.) It’s exciting to see things coming together. If I get the car settled this week and the apartment settled next month, then the only thing that I need to sort out is my job, and that, well… I’ll figure that out somehow.
